Chakras

Chakra Definition. What is a chakra?
Wikipedia’s definition is: The chakras are thought to vitalise the physical body and to be associated with interactions of a physical, emotional and mental nature. They are considered loci of life energy, or prana, (also called shakti, or chi), which is thought to flow among them along pathways called nadis. The function of the chakras is to spin and draw in this Universal Life Force Energy to keep the spiritual, mental, emotional and physical health of the body in balance. Chakras are energy centers located in the body with corresponding locations in your ethereal or astral body that act as conduits or connectors between you and Source. Each chakra is responsible for a different aspect of Source connection. In a nutshell, chakras are energy centers in the body.

Clogged Chakras
The way I like to think about chakras is that they are sockets. You can plug a loving tendril from Source into each one and let that divine energy fill you up. But sometimes chakras can get clogged, and when your chakras aren’t clear and spinning freely, you’re likely to have problems in the area where you’re clogged. For example, if your heart chakra is clogged, you probably feel very disconnected from other people. If your third eye is clogged, your intuition is probably not getting through. If your crown chakra is clogged, you probably feel disconnected from God (Source). If your solar plexus chakra is clogged, you probably feel scared or victimized. A clogged throat chakra can feel like you’re being suppressed or you’ve got something you want to say that you’re not saying.
Clogged chakras can cause physical problems related to the area where they function. For example, if someone is intimidating you, you might have digestive issues in your solar plexus (i.e. nervous stomach). If there is someone you really need to talk to but you just can’t bring yourself to do it, you may end up with a sore throat. Clogged intuition could result in a headache. And so on.
If you are empathic or psychic, you may be attracting other people’s emotions and issues to you like a magnet. Other people’s issues might stick to you because you don’t release them, and that can cause your chakras to get a little clogged as well. There is no earthly reason to carry around someone else’s burdens or pain. You’re just gumming up your own system.
Some people unconsciously (or even consciously) close their chakras because they are afraid of the connection they are feeling to themselves, other people, or the divine. This is what happened to me in my 20′s when I decided to turn off my psychic abilities so I could be normal. When I finally got back to opening them up, there was a lot of accumulated fear and gunk that needed to be cleaned out. It was quite a task, but I did it.
Cleansing the Chakras
So how do you clean up your chakras and get them spinning energetically? There are many ways to do it; everyone I speak to has their own method. There is no one right or wrong way, so I’ll share my method with you, but please find the method that works best for you. Experiment before you adopt one single method.
Sit quietly in a chair or lay down. I like to listen to meditation music but that’s not required. You could even light a candle. Knock yourself out. Locate your root chakra and imagine a red energy spinning clockwise in that location. (If you’re above your body and looking down and there is a pole running through your head and out your feet, spin it clockwise around this pole). Use the centrifugal force of the spin to remove and clear any dark spots or psychic gunk that has accumulated there. Just imagine it all spinning away. When that chakra is spinning with clear, red energy, you’re done. Move your awareness to the next chakra, the sacral chakra, and do the same thing. Spin it clockwise, imagining an orange light whirling around that imaginary pole running through your body. Clear it and move to the next chakra. Do this all the way to your crown chakra. At the end I like to pour white light all around my body, and sometimes I add golden light for protection, or green light for healing.
Cleansing your chakras should only take a few minutes. If you do this every day, you’ll notice less and less psychic gunk and you can get them clear really fast (30 seconds or so).
The Benefits of Clean Chakras
Why bother with all this chakra cleansing stuff right? I mean, I went through more than 30 years of my life without clearing a single chakra and I’m no worse off, right? Wrong. If you asked me when I was 30 how important the chakras are to good overall physical and psychic health I would have said they were fictitious energy centers in the body that new age people play around with for fun. Now I have to eat those words.
When my guides told me I had a choice to make (use my abilities to help people or be forever locked in my own fear), one of the first things I had to do was re-open my heart chakra. That was the key chakra for me, it might be different for you. I had closed off my connection to other people because it hurt me too much to watch people suffer and not be able to do anything about it. So my guides sent me a lovely gift: they opened my heart chakra so wide sometimes that it engulfed the entire planet, and they allowed me to feel the suffering and pain of all the people in the world. It shook me to my core. Feeling all that pain and suffering and hearing people’s souls crying out for help overwhelmed me and I started sobbing immediately. And my guides said to me, “If you could alleviate their suffering and help them, would you?” And I replied, “Yes, yes, if I can help them then I must.” And then they closed my heart chakra again. That glimpse was a catalyst for me. I asked a friend how to re-open my chakras and she told me the method I’ve shared with you. Clearing out my chakras the first time took a lot of time and energy. So many years of accumulated dust had taken their toll. But I did it. And that’s when my psychic abilities began manifesting. I developed clairvoyance, clairaudience, and claircognizance in short order.
Cleansing my chakras became a daily ritual. Before doing anything I clear out my own chakras and get them spinning fast and energetically. I plug into Source and bring in extra energy so I can reach the higher realms where angels and ascended masters reside. I’m also able to sense what’s going on in the chakras of the people I’m serving. I can see where they are closed up, clogged up, or out of balance. It’s become a very useful tool for me in diagnosing spiritual ailments. Believe me, I know how that sounds. But it works time and time again so I don’t question it anymore.

Summary

Chakras are a powerful connection between your body, your etheric body, and Source. Keeping them healthy and clear will bring you balance, good health, and stronger intuitive connections. Just one minute a day is all it takes. Take care of your chakras and allow them to help you reconnect with Source.
